From Dark Facility to Full Network Control at Freedom Data Centers

As Freedom Data Centers prepares to open colocation space at a former HBO/Warner Bros. Discovery campus in Sunrise, Florida, Aravolta forward deployed engineers and installed its discovery platform on-site to map, secure, and take control of the facility's entire network infrastructure. The team reset credentials across 138 devices while preserving the existing system topology fully intact.

The Situation

Freedom Data Centers acquired a former HBO/Warner Bros. Discovery broadcast and data center campus in Sunrise, Florida with plans to convert it into a multi-tenant colocation facility. The site represents a significant opportunity: an enterprise-grade facility with existing power, cooling, and structured cabling already in place.

The challenge was that the previous tenant left behind hundreds of networking devices across multiple buildings with zero documentation. No credentials, no IP maps, no topology diagrams. Freedom needed to take full ownership of an unknown network before they could begin selling colocation space.

What Aravolta Did

Aravolta forward deployed engineers on-site for five consecutive days across both buildings of the campus. The team brought its own connectivity, installed an Aravolta discovery node, and systematically worked through every room in the facility to bring the entire network under Freedom's control.

On-Site Discovery Node Deployment

Aravolta installed a discovery node directly on the facility's network. The node used SNMP and LLDP to identify neighboring devices, trace switch-to-switch connections, and automatically map the topology across both buildings. Starting from a single point, the platform crawled outward to discover every device in the infrastructure, building a complete network map that didn't exist before Aravolta arrived.

Credential Reset While Preserving Topology

The engineering team performed password recovery and credential resets on every device in the facility, standardizing access under Freedom Data Centers' management. The critical piece: this was done while keeping the existing system and topology fully intact. No configurations were wiped. No connections were broken. Every switch, firewall, and gateway was secured without disrupting a single link in the chain.

No ISP? No Problem.

The facility had no ISP service at the time of the engagement. Aravolta brought in its own gateway, stood up a temporary management network, and lit up the NOC so the team could verify devices and access management interfaces on-site. Freedom Data Centers went from a dark facility to a network they could actually see and manage.

The Result

In under a week, Freedom Data Centers went from an inherited, undocumented network to having full administrative control, a live topology map, and continuous remote monitoring through the Aravolta platform. The entire existing infrastructure was preserved intact throughout the process.

Full Credential Control

138 devices across both buildings secured and standardized under Freedom Data Centers' management. Every switch, firewall, and gateway accessible on demand.

Zero Disruption to Existing Infrastructure

Every configuration, connection, and network path preserved throughout the engagement. The team took control without breaking a single link.

Always-On Remote Monitoring

The Aravolta node remains on-site, continuously discovering devices and monitoring the network. Freedom has eyes on their infrastructure 24/7 from anywhere.

Colocation-Ready Positioning

With full network visibility and control established, Freedom Data Centers is positioned to onboard ISPs, sign tenants, and begin generating revenue from the facility.

Taking Over a Facility?

Whether you're converting a legacy site, onboarding a new facility, or need to get control of an inherited network, Aravolta can discover, secure, and monitor your infrastructure from day one.
